For example, children may say pay for play or nake for snake.
3. Distortions

For example, children may produce sounds with a lisp or produce some of their sounds with a nasalized quality.
4. Additions
Where an extra sound is added to a word.
For example, children may say buhlack for black or doguh for dog.
WHY is this important?
Children often pick up speaking habits from other children or develop their own way of speaking that may include these errors.
Speech Therapists are trained in these specific errors and can evaluate your child without the need to see a doctor! If there are kids in your life who have some of these types of speech errors, call us to get them scheduled for a speech evaluation!
